Ingredients required :
Idly rice - 3 cups
Thick avalaki - 1 cup
Ural dal whole - 1 cup
Salt as per taste
Cooking soda - 1 pinch
How to prepare :
1. Wash all the ingredients separately and soak them for 4-5 hours in lukewarm water.
2. Grind all the above ingredients separately and mix them all together to a fine batter for idly consistency. (Can be done in a mixer grinder or wet grinder following the same process).
3. Leave for around 8-10 hours for fermentation.
4. Next day give it a nice stir in one direction and add the required salt and pinch of cooking soda.
5. Make idly as usual.
Enjoy the super soft idly’s with your favorite chutney or sambhar.
